Nizhny Novgorod Customs summed up its results for the first nine months of 2025. As Deputy Head of the agency Rustem Agzamov noted, the results were quite respectable. Thus, about 1.7 billion rubles were transferred to the federal budget.
From January to September 2025, more than 2,200 administrative cases were initiated. Each was considered individually: in some cases additional payments were assessed, in others fines were imposed. Three criminal cases were also opened.
At the same time, as Rustem Agzamov emphasized, the customs service has no plans regarding the number of cases — everything depends on the actual violations. Often it is not about malicious actions but about technical errors — such as incomplete or incorrect completion of documents. Such cases are examined in detail, taking all circumstances into account.
Since the beginning of the year, around 70 cases have been heard in courts, and in most cases rulings were made in favor of the customs service.
As part of control over compliance with currency legislation, 61 inspections were carried out. As a result, 182 violations were identified totaling over 1.2 billion rubles. Following the checks, 150 administrative cases were initiated amounting to over 244 million rubles.
In addition, over nine months employees of the agency identified 821 items of counterfeit goods. Also, after the release of the goods, an additional one was conducted. As a result of them, additional customs duties, penalties and fines were assessed in the total amount of more than 505 million rubles.
