In Nizhny Novgorod, the restoration of an early 20th-century architectural monument is planned to be completed by October 2028. The corresponding order was approved at the end of September and published on the website of the regional administration for the protection of cultural heritage.
The I.M. Gribkov House is located at 21 Verkhnevolzhskaya Embankment. It is a two-story house with a raised basement, built in an eclectic style with elements of Art Nouveau. It is easy to recognize by the bay with a large window, decorative turrets on the attics and carved doors finished in a fan-shaped style.
By April 2027 the owner must prepare a project for the preservation of the building. After that he will have another year and a half to obtain permits for the work, carry out the restoration and improve the surrounding area. All work must be completed by October 2028.
The restoration will affect not only the Gribkov House but also the nearby Red Cross Hospital, built in 1910–1911 with funds from merchant Mitrofan Rukavishnikov. In the 20th century the hospital purchased the house, and it became part of the hospital complex.
A brief for the preparation of a project will also be required for the restoration of the Hospital. The deadline remains the same.
Earlier it was reported that almost 3 million rubles were allocated for the restoration of museum exhibits from the collection of the Gorky Literary Museum.
