      The Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Dmitry Kabaylo, commented on the scandal at a private boxing school. He reported this on his Telegram channel.

      According to information, the founder and coach at the boxing school allegedly molested the pupils. An investigation is currently underway; the Investigative Committee has opened a criminal case. The ministry will provide the investigation with the necessary assistance.

      “As the father of an athlete, I understand what authority a coach has. I myself teach my son discipline and respect for hierarchy. But when a coach’s authority is used for ill intentions, it must be eradicated!” said Dmitry Kabaylo.

      According to Dmitry Kabaylo, the incident that occurred at the private school was recorded on video. The Minister of Sports believes that the physical education and sports sector needs additional regulation, and that the Ministry of Sports should be granted supervisory and oversight functions. In addition, he noted that psychological evaluations should be introduced for employees who work with children.
