      The president of the charitable foundation "Women for Life" and a member of the Public Chamber of Russia, Natalia Moskvitina, emphasized the importance of helping large and single-parent families, but noted that the services of a free nanny should not replace parents and close relatives.

      In an interview with the TV channel 360, Moskvitina noted that "social nannies" can be useful, but it is important to take into account the role of relatives in raising children. She suggested refining the project, taking into account criticism and parents' opinions.

      According to her, the absence of older relatives in the upbringing process can adversely affect the child. She also noted that the involvement of outsiders in family life can influence the formation of children's understanding of the institution of the family.

      "In a child's life there should be grandmothers and grandfathers, who by nature should be included in this process. Otherwise, if grandmothers work and mothers work, the child ends up like a nanny," Moskvitina concluded.

      Recall that State Duma deputy Yana Lantratova expressed the view that the "Social Nanny" project, launched in several regions of the country, should be made federal: it will help reduce the burden on single-parent and large families.

      As reported earlier, the Nizhny Novgorod Region also launched a short-term child supervision and care service this summer. Services will be provided by 57 social protection institutions within the municipal formations where they are located. A total of 106.3 million rubles from budgets at various levels have been allocated for these purposes.
