Millions of rubles will be allocated to 211 new Wi-Fi hotspots in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Economy. The authorities of the Nizhny Novgorod Region plan to deploy more than two hundred free Wi‑Fi access points in public places. About 13 million rubles have been allocated for the project. This follows from documentation on the public procurement website.

      The State Public Institution "Order Placement Center of the Nizhny Novgorod Region" announced two auctions for the organization of communication channels with user authorization. The work will be carried out as part of providing free internet access in places of mass gatherings.

      The first contract, worth 9.6 million rubles, covers 141 sites in Nizhny Novgorod (including Kstovo) and Dzerzhinsk. Wi‑Fi will appear in healthcare institutions, social centers, public organizations, migration offices, and municipal infrastructure facilities, including the Limpopo Zoo, warehouses at the Strelka, railway stations, and public transport stops.

      The second lot, for 3.36 million rubles, provides for the connection of 69 bus stops in Nizhny Novgorod, as well as Hospital No. 4 of the Privolzhsky District Medical Center at 41a Tropinina Street.

      The term for providing services under both contracts is set until September 30, 2026.

      Recall that free Wi‑Fi has become available in the maternity hospitals and perinatal centers of Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk. Free Wi‑Fi hotspots have also appeared in Kstovo.

      Earlier it was reported that the public Wi‑Fi map in the Nizhny Novgorod Region was significantly expanded.
