An unusual art installation will soon appear in the park near the Assumption Church and the Olisov Palaces—a perpetual motion machine dedicated to the famous Nizhny Novgorod inventor Ivan Kulibin. The sculpture was created by renowned artist Kirill Alexandrov, according to IRGSNO.
The composition is based on Kulibin's original drawings and references his engineering legacy. The feature of the object is that it will be interactive: anyone can pull the lever of the pendulum and change the appearance of the structure.
The shape of the sculpture symbolically recalls the estate of Kulibin that once stood here, lost in 1813. Pedestrian paths are planned around the site to make the space more comfortable for walks.
The installation process can be observed in person; currently, the site is fenced off with a transparent construction barrier.
The project is implemented at the initiative of the Government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
Earlier, it was reported that a land art installation called "Towers," made from natural materials, appeared at the Staraya Square in Nizhny Novgorod.
