A fire broke out in a vacated two-story building in the center of Nizhny Novgorod. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the fire covers an area of 100 square meters.
Witnesses report that the flames and thick smoke are clearly visible from neighboring streets. Firefighters are operating at the scene.
Due to the incident, traffic on Poltavskaya Street is partially restricted.
The fire has now been localized. Work is underway to completely extinguish the fire.
It is known that one person was injured; they were hospitalized with burns.
Earlier reports indicated that a refrigerator caused a fire in Vetluga, resulting in the destruction of a private house.
