Colombia celebrates Independence Day
On July 20, Colombia celebrates Independence Day—a holiday dedicated to the victory over Spanish colonialism in 1810. This day is marked nationwide with grand celebrations. Military parades, vibrant carnivals, exciting concerts, and folk festivals—all paying tribute to heroic ancestors who fought to preserve Colombia’s freedom. The Nizhny Novgorod region values its cooperation with Latin America highly, and educational collaboration is one of the shining examples of this partnership. Every year, about 200 students from Latin American countries study at Nizhny Novgorod universities, enriching the cultural life of our region and strengthening international ties. We congratulate the people of Colombia on Independence Day! Wishing peace, prosperity, unity, and further development!
