The State Labour Inspectorate of the Nizhny Novgorod region initiated an investigation into a workplace accident following a serious road traffic incident involving employees of the region's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The accident occurred on July 17, 2025, around 14:00 on the third kilometer of the Ilyinogorsk-Zolino highway in the Volodarsky municipal district. Preliminary data indicate that the driver of a Renault passenger car lost control, causing the vehicle to slide off the road and overturn.
Two employees were injured in the accident: a 60-year-old driver of the transportation department of the Nizhny Novgorod Chamber of Commerce and Industry and a 58-year-old chief expert of the construction-technical examination department of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Center for Expert Examinations of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Nizhny Novgorod." Both were hospitalized with injuries classified as severe.
According to the inspectorate, the specialists were heading to the Volodarsky district to conduct a construction-technical examination of a local institution.
According to Ilya Moshes, the chief state labour inspector of the Nizhny Novgorod region, the investigation is being conducted within the framework of Russian labour legislation and aims to establish all the circumstances and causes that led to the incident.
It was previously reported that the State Labour Inspectorate has begun an investigation following a fatal traffic accident involving officials from Chuvashia on the M-7 "Volga" highway in the Votkinsky district.
