Employees of the Nizhny Novgorod Research Institute paid to help businessmen win tenders.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, former research institute employees and businessmen were convicted of bribe-taking. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      Three former research institute employees and two heads of commercial firms were found guilty of corruption. The investigation revealed that from 2016 to 2022, institute staff repeatedly received money from business representatives. In exchange for these bribes, they provided the businessmen with necessary information to help them win tenders conducted by the institute.

      The total amount of illegal payments exceeded 2 million rubles. The investigation was carried out by investigators of the Investigative Committee in collaboration with FSB officers. The court found the collected evidence sufficient for sentencing. As a result, all five received suspended sentences ranging from 4 to 7.5 years and were ordered to pay fines from 1.7 to 2.6 million rubles.
