      Society On the facade of the sixth building of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod, a graffiti appeared depicting Alexey Strekachyov — a participant in the special military operation, awarded the Medal of Courage.

      The grand opening of the art installation took place on July 10 as part of the project "Image of Victory. Heroes of Our Time." The initiative is organized by the regional branch of the "Victory Volunteers" movement with the support of the Nizhny Novgorod region government.

      The portrait of the hero was placed on the building where he once studied. Alexey graduated from the Radiophysics Faculty of NNU and also attended the Military Training Center at the university, earning the rank of lieutenant.

      At the opening ceremony, representatives of the university, students, volunteers, and Alexey's family members were present. Among the guests were Elena Chumankina, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work; Sergeant Sergey Rybinin, head of the Military Training Center; Maria Samodelkina, head of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of "Victory Volunteers"; and Alexey’s mother — Natalya Alekseevna Strekachyova.

      "Alexey was an incredibly kind, caring, and determined person, always ready to help everyone without exception. He led a healthy lifestyle, practiced sambo, and from the age of 13 dreamed of becoming a soldier. Thank you to everyone who does not forget my son. It is important to keep the memory of heroes in our hearts. May their deeds remain a light that eternally calls us forward, and their courage be an example for all of us. As long as we remember, they are with us," said Natalya Alekseevna.

      Alexey Strekachyov was born in Dzerzhinsk. After graduating from university, he was sent to serve in the Krasnodar region, where he commanded a missile defense unit. Since the start of the special military operation, he had been in the combat zone and demonstrated courage while carrying out a combat mission. He died fulfilling his military duty. For bravery and selflessness, he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Courage.
